Run for Something

Hi John,

Today, we've got 271 Run for Something candidates on the ballot -- I'll go through some highlights on the podcast. You can still help them get out the vote, too! Find volunteer opportunities here.

Then on the podcast, I speak with Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett -- a public defender and private practice lawyer we supported in 2020.

After realizing her limited capacity to fight systemic injustices case-by-case as a lawyer in the courts, Jasmine decided to take the fight for justice to the source: the state legislature. And it's a good thing she won in 2020 -- because she's been fighting from day one to protect Texans' freedom to vote from unprecedented attacks, defying the pressure as a new legislator to stay behind the scenes.

Tune in this week to learn how Jasmine went from fighting injustices as a lawyer in court to how she helped organize one of the most important walkouts to protect the freedom to vote.
