Friend,

There are only two Democratic senators up for re-election in states Donald Trump won in 2016 -- Michigan Senator Gary Peters is one of them.

My friend Gary isn't much for the drama and pageantry of Washington -- instead he keeps his head down and fights hard for the people of Michigan every single day. He puts politics and party aside to make real progress for small businesses and middle-class families. But a recent poll puts him only 3 points ahead of his GOP opponent, and he needs our help now.

Before Thursdays end-of-month deadline, Gary needs to raise $10,000 to fight back: Donate $5 or more now to support Senator Gary Peters re-election in Michigan today.

In the U.S. Senate, Gary is focused on strengthening our middle class by protecting access to quality, affordable health care, preparing our kids for the jobs of tomorrow, and helping small businesses grow.

Hes drawn on his business background time and time again to make Washington more transparent and accountable -- which led to efforts in Congress to eliminate wasteful and unnecessary spending.

But he knows Michigan is never a given for Democrats -- in fact, he likes "their Midwestern independent streak." Trump carried the state in 2016, but in 2020 all bets are off.

His opponent raised $3 million in Q3, and Gary raised $2.5 million -- coupled with such a small lead in polling, that's a scary position to be in. We need to protect every single Senate seat in 2020, and flip a couple too -- but Gary's seat is one of the most vulnerable. He needs our help now.

We've set an aggressive goal of $10,000 by Thursdays mid-month deadline to give Gary the boost he needs heading into November: Donate $5 or more now to fund the fight.

Chuck Schumer
