Women Reporting from the Frontlines: A Discussion with Female War Correspondents

From Iraq to Sri Lanka to Nicaragua, women have been reporting from the frontlines of war for centuries. As part of our overarching theme of Women in War and Peace, WIIS Netherlands is hosting a roundtable discussion on female journalists and their experiences as war correspondents.

In a moderated panel discussion, we invite female war correspondents to openly discuss their experiences and engage with a diverse audience.

What does a career in gender advocacy look like and what opportunities are out there to help push the needle on gender equality? How can you get involved and support fellow women fighting for their rights around the world?

7th Annual Texas Women, Peace & Security Symposium: "Women, Peace & Security After the Fall of Kabul" Registration

Join the Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University for it's 7th Annual Texas Women, Peace, & Security Symposium. This year’s symposium will focus on the meaning of the Kabul fiasco for those who have worked to improve the situation of Afghan women and for the larger endeavor of Women, Peace, and Security.

Non-Profit and Government Career Forum

Are you considering a career in public service or at a nonprofit?

WIIS student and young professional members are invited to attend a virtual career forum on November 19, 2021. This forum aims to share insight and give advice on what it's like to work in the NGO, Non-Profit and US Government sectors. This annual event is held in partnership with the Women's Foreign Policy Group, George Washington University, New York University, University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Delaware.

Discussing Inclusive Security: An International Symposium

Join WIIS Hellas on November 24, 2021 for a hybrid symposium. This symposium will focus on inclusive security and development and will include discussions on interdependency and resilience, gender and inclusive security during the era of COVID-19, and the future of NATO.

Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Under Threat: Conflict and Authoritarianism, Closing Civic Space and COVID

Recently, WIIS and the Embassy of Liechtenstein, Washington DC hosted a virtual policy roundtable discussion on some of the challenges women and gender champions around the world face. We were honored to be joined by H.E. Dominique Hasler, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education and Sport of the Principality of Liechtenstein, Zuhra Bahman (Search for Common Ground in Afghanistan), Jamille Bigio (USAID), Megan Corrado (Alliance for Peacebuilding), and Dr. Sarah Taylor (UN Women).
