I wanted to make sure you saw Jay's email, because there's so much at stake.

Look, I'll just put it way more bluntly than the Governor did: You remember what happened the last time we took an election for granted? We just assumed that cooler, calmer heads would prevail, and we were wrong. Had we not taken anything for granted, we'd have someone very different leading our country right now.

Politics is not what it once was. Today you have to be prepared for anything. Do you remember what happened when shadowy dark money groups poured millions into unfounded attacks? We simply cannot take this election for granted. We must be sure we have the resources to respond to the attacks we know are coming our way.
