Right now, the Supreme Court is hearing two cases challenging Senate Bill 8 from Texas. It is devastating for all of us, knowing the Supreme Court has not intervened to prevent this bill from taking effect.
Since September 1st, S.B. 8 has harmed the people of Texas by denying them their constitutionally protected right to abortion care and access. This bill should have never become law because abortion is health care. Period.
It should be simple, but our constitutionally protected rights are constantly being attacked in Texas. The Supreme Court must block this unconstitutional ban and Congress must ACT NOW to codify Roe v. Wade. That being said, as the LAST anti-choice Democrat, Henry Cuellar sided with Republicans to vote against codifying Roe v. Wade as recently as this year.
