| The Health Care Marketplace open enrollment period has started! |
One of the issues I hear about most from North Texans is the need for affordable, quality health care, which is why, since I was first sworn in, I’ve been working to protect and expand the Affordable Care Act. Starting today through January 15, 2022, you can enroll in the Health Care Marketplace to get health insurance at a discounted price or compare and change plans.
This year we expanded financial help to many more people, so check today to see if you can save money on a plan for you and your family. Visit www.healthcare.gov to enroll or renew! Enroll by December 15 for coverage starting January 1, 2022, or by January 15 for coverage starting February 1, 2022.

Earlier this year, I helped to pass the American Rescue Plan, which created a special enrollment period due to COVID-19, giving nearly 3 million more Americans access to life-saving coverage during the pandemic. We also expanded financial help for marketplace plans. For example, a family of four with a household income of $100,000 could see their Affordable Care Act marketplace premiums cut in half, or nearly $11,000 in savings. I am currently working to pass the Build Back Better agenda, which will build on the success of the Affordable Care Act, solidify the enhancements made in the American Rescue Plan and lower health care costs across the board.
As a reminder, COVID-19 vaccines are available for all North Texans aged 12 and over. Booster shots are also available for eligible folks. The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and free of charge, even if you don’t have health insurance. Visit vaccines.gov to find out where to get your free COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot.
