Dear Supporter,

We are pleased to announce that Hollaback! has been selected as an inaugural recipient of a Community Grant from Michael Jordan and the Jordan Brand as part of its Black Community Commitment Grant Program. This funding will allow us to support our public trainings for Bystander Intervention to Stop Police Sponsored Violence and Anti-Black Harassment and train up to 40,000 participants for free.

Since 2020 and in response to continued police violence against black communities, we have adapted our 5D’s methodology of bystander intervention to teach people how to safely intervene in the face of police violence and racism.

This grant from the Jordan Brand reaffirms our commitment to continue to mobilize communities to take action against anti-Black harassment. In that spirit, we would like to accompany this announcement with a public conversation to discuss the discrimination disproportionately targeting Black Americans.

Please join us at the Let’s Talk: Stop Sponsored Police Violence & Anti-Black Racist Harassment Roundtable on November 5, 2021, at 7 pm.
We will be honored to talk with Bridgett Floyd (sister of late George Floyd) and social justice activist Michael S. Williams, from the Black On Black Project, to explore strategies to help put an end to the disparate treatment Black Americans experience in the legal system (including police, courts, jails/prisons).

The conversation, which will be facilitated by UniQue Webster, Hollaback’s Director of External Affairs, will also explore the participation of Black Americans in American political and social life. Join us on Facebook and click here for more information on our work to fight anti-black racism and upcoming training dates.  To stay up to date with our latest content, make sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter as well.

With Love,

Hollaback!
