November 11^th marks the observance of VETERANS DAY. On this day we honor all Veterans who have served our country. The Lapeer County Republican Party sincerely thanks our Veterans for answering the call to duty, protecting our lives, and the sacrifices they’ve made. Remember to say a special “THANK YOU” to the Veterans you know.
This year marks 100 years (1921-2021) commemorating the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. This sacred grave site of three unknown American service members is guarded by solders around the clock every day of the year, rain or shine. These solders have a strict regiment to follow and consider it an honor to guard the Tomb. Hopefully you’ve had the opportunity to visit Arlington and see the Tomb. It inspires reflection on our service members and the sacrifices they’ve made. If you are not aware of the Tomb’s history this is a good time to read about it and share it with your family. You’ll be amazed at the strict qualification and commitments the guards make.

The Lapeer County Executive Board Committee meeting will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021, 7:00 PM at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds, Imlay City. All are welcome to attend.
Plan on attending our Christmas Party, following the December 16th meeting. Bring a dish to pass and enjoy the good food, fun and fellowship with everyone.

Each year the Lapeer County Republican Party has an essay contest offered to senior high school students residing in Lapeer County. The committee is working on this year’s topic and it will be posted in the December newsletter.
