Hi John,
Majority Leader Schumer has given the Senate another week to finalize
the climate policies in the budget reconciliation. A price on carbon
hangs in the balance. A fee on corporate polluters will help reach 50%
emissions reductions by 2030.
Because the budget reconciliation negotiations only include Democrats,
your Republican Senators are not directly involved in negotiations. Will
you call your Representative

and ask them to support a carbon price and the bipartisan infrastructure
bill?

The home stretch. The bottom of the 9th. The final act. Whatever your
preferred metaphor, it's a really important week. If you've been
following the roller coaster of budget reconciliation, you know that
many members of Congress are working hard to build the political will to
pass policies that will reach the goal of 50% by 2030

. And they've asked for our help. It's thanks to the work of CCLers like
you that a carbon price is at the center of the Senate negotiations. A
groundswell of support this week can tip the balance. Even if you've
already called your Representative, please call again

. With Gratitude,
Mark Reynolds
