John, today, the Supreme Court is hearing a case on Texas's unconstitutional six-week abortion ban — a decision that could spell the end of Roe v. Wade.
As a physician who spent most of her career on the labor and delivery floor, I’ve sat with families making these decisions and can tell you from personal experience the consequences of overturning Roe v. Wade would be horrific.
This is not a drill. The future of reproductive rights is on the line and we all need to step up to this fight. I’m ready to fight back, but I need your help. Let’s show them we’re watching, and we’re taking this all the way to the Senate. [[link removed]]
If this Texas law is allowed to stand, we know we’ll see other states following suit with laws that heavily restrict or outright ban abortion, leaving millions of women and pregnant people without access to the abortion care they need. They could be forced to give birth against their will, drive hours to another state to get an abortion, or even take dangerous measures to terminate their pregnancy.
Like many of you, I’ll be watching these Supreme Court arguments today and let me tell you folks, what we’re seeing right now is frightening, upsetting and infuriating.
It’s also why we need to stand together to fight back for reproductive freedom and push to have Roe v. Wade codified at the federal level. This is a fight I am ready to lead with your help.
