- Confirm where your polling place is located. Be sure to note the address of your polling location, and remember that polls are open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. If you are in line by 7:00 PM, you are legally allowed to vote.
- What time will you vote? In the morning, at lunch, or after work? Try to plan ahead so that you won't feel rushed and will have ample time to consider your voting options.
- How are you getting there? Consider whether you will walk, drive, or take public transportation to your polling place.
- What form of ID are you bringing? This does not necessarily have to be a photo ID, but can also be a utility bill, bank statement, or paycheck. If you don't bring an acceptable form of ID, you are still allowed to vote by signing an ID confirmation statement or requesting a provisional ballot.
- Who and what will you vote for? Be sure to look up a sample ballot for your voting district to see what your options are before you head to the polls.
If you encounter any issues when attempting to vote, please call the Election Protection Number (866-687-8683). Remember: LGBTQ equality is on the line this election, and every vote counts. So let's exercise our rights and get to the polls! Happy voting! - All of us at Equality Virginia |
