Today, the Supreme Court will hear arguments challenging Texas’s restrictive abortion ban, which is directly at odds with Roe v. Wade.
Add your name here if you agree that Texas’s abortion ban must be overturned and the right to choose protected in our country.

Today, the Supreme Court will hear arguments against Texas’s extremely restrictive abortion law, which essentially bans most abortions in the state.
I’ve always been an advocate for reproductive rights and healthcare access, and I am hoping that law will be overturned. Do you agree?

This law bans all abortion after six weeks of pregnancy with no exceptions — not even for rape or incest. Six weeks is before many even know they are pregnant in the first place. It’s a completely outrageous standard.
And to make matters worse the law also offers $10,000 to anyone who successfully sues someone they think has helped a woman obtain an abortion. This opens up a Pandora’s box where any random citizen on the street can sue doctors, clinic staff or even a taxi driver who dropped a woman off at a clinic.
This law denies women the autonomy to make their own decisions, puts people’s health at risk and incentivizes citizens to go after their neighbors in order to earn money. And after today’s arguments, the Supreme Court could decide whether to keep the current legislation in place or strike it down.
The Court’s decision could have implications for similarly restrictive legislation in other states — so I’m hoping it will be overturned both for people in Texas and all across the country. If you agree, please:

As you can tell, I’m angry about this, but I’m proud to have you standing with me on the side of Roe v. Wade and our constitutionally protected right to choose.
I’ll be back in touch with more updates on the Supreme Court’s decision when I have them.
All my best,
Tammy Duckworth
