<[link removed]> U.S. Sen. Mike Braun and U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski are presented with Congressional Champion Awards at the Roosevelt Reception. October was a productive and successful month for ConservAmerica. We held our first in-person Roosevelt Reception in two years, and it was wonderful to see so many of our close friends. We were delighted to present ConservAmerica’s Congressional Champion Award to four members - U.S. Sen. Mike Braun, U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, and U.S. Rep. Bruce Westerman - who have demonstrated true leadership in developing and advocating for strong policy measures rooted in the principles and values we all share. Like us, they understand that a strong economy, and a healthy, clean environment must go hand in hand. They deserve to be recognized for their hard work. The success of the reception is due to our many sponsors, all of whom are listed at the end of this newsletter. As we continue our commitment to building consensus around pragmatic solutions that are economically and environmentally smart, it is gratifying to know we have so many champions on Capitol Hill, on both sides of the aisle, and in the community. Please check out the photos from the reception on our website <[link removed]> . The national costs for recovering species are significant and estimated to be well over $1.2 billion annually. Fortunately, there is a growing bipartisan consensus that state wildlife agencies can do more to keep species off the ESA list by actively monitoring and managing at-risk species, including encouraging more innovative techniques, tools, and partnerships. On Oct. 12, ConservAmerica hosted a webinar that explored the challenges and opportunities for species conservation, the role of innovation and private landowners, and the prospects for enacting the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act. There's no better way to be a good steward of the land we love than by protecting it for future generations. We need your help to continue leading the way on environmental, conservation, and clean energy issues. ConservAmerica believes the most successful approaches are the ones that offer common sense, market-based solutions rather than big government, top-down regulations.
