Â
Team,
This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in two
cases challenging S.B. 8, Texas's extreme ban on abortion after just
six weeks of pregnancy. In the first case, the Center and its partners
represent Whole Woman's Health and a broad coalition of abortion
providers and advocates. The second case was brought by the U.S.
Department of Justice against the state of Texas.
You can listen to our oral argument live here starting at 10:00 AM
EDT.

This ban took effect on September 1 and for nearly two months most
Texans haven't been able to access abortion services. The Supreme
Court has repeatedly declined to block the ban.
The Supreme Court will rule on attempts to dismiss both cases,
deciding whether federal courts have the authority to block the law,
and whether the Department of Justice has the power to challenge it.
The Court will also once again decide whether to block the ban while
litigation continues.
We'll keep you updated as this case progresses.
Sincerely,
Center for Reproductive Rights
