Happy Halloween, friend: There's nothing scarier than six more years of Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), which is why I'm running to defeat him and protect Democratic Senate control.
But in the spirit of Halloween, I wanted to share this old photo I came across from one of my early Halloweens. I love every part of this season: everything pumpkin-related, gorgeous foliage, apple picking and, of course, decorating and dressing up for Halloween. In this photo, I’m dressed up as Big Bird – and I’m as unimpressed with Chuck Grassley now as I was in this big bird costume then.
I'm struck by just how much has changed since that photo was taken. I didn't even know what Congress was back then – let alone that I would have the privilege to serve my community as the youngest woman to flip a House seat from red to blue. As a kid, I was most scared of werewolves lurking under my bed, but now the things that keep me up at night are much more real.
Iowans have been sold out by Sen. Grassley. Rather than getting things done for our communities, he's advancing far-right conspiracies and leaving behind working families like mine. What's more, as former chair of the Judiciary Committee, he holds responsibility for confirming some of the extreme justices who now hold the fate of Roe v. Wade in their hands.
That's why I'm running for Senate – to stop Sen. Grassley's extremism, protect our Senate majority and fight for working families. But tonight is our last chance to hit our end-of-month fundraising goal, and right now we're still $3,205 behind.
So please – before the clock strikes midnight and the witching hour of end-of-month fundraising ends – can you chip in $5 dollars or whatever you can spare to defeat Sen. Grassley and protect our Senate majority?

Witches and ghosts will roam the streets tonight (while we eat just a few too many pieces of candy) – but if you help me meet this fundraising goal, we can all go to bed one step closer to defeating Sen. Grassley and a little bit less scared.
Thanks for standing with me – wishing you and your family a very spooky Halloween!
– Abby
