Preview: Tax the rich

Hi John,

Tax. The. Rich.

Billionaires’ extreme wealth lets them buy elections and rig the economy in their favor. We need to tax them until they can’t anymore. If you agree, please donate now! I’m running against a Chevron Democrat and I need all the help I can get to defeat him. >>[link removed]

Billionaires are vampires sucking the life out of our economy and democracy.

A few years ago, Forbes ranked the richest people in the U.S. by how much they “pulled themselves up by their bootstraps” on their way to financial success. One thing Forbes didn’t mention: over 250 of the companies linked to these rich people have received free money from the government, AKA subsidies.

Every single one of the top 10 richest people on this list are linked to companies that have received $1 million or more in free government money.

Yet somehow it’s a problem when we want the government to seriously address climate change, poverty, homelessness, and more?

Consider this: Donald Trump's tax bill in 2017 was $750. The average American's tax bill in 2017 was $12,200.

Why is the tax code written this way? Because the billionaires paid to have it written that way. Our entire economic system is a giant transfer of wealth from the working class to the parasite class.

And our democracy is quickly being torn to shreds to continue enriching the parasitic few. Billionaires have funded far-right networks of think tanks, activists, and politicians to rip away our voting rights, so they can get richer and richer without regulation, and so far-right theocrats can inflict their vision of morality on us.

I’m running for Congress to fight Republicans and the Democrats who enable them, like my Chevron Democrat opponent, who voted for Trump’s favorite policies. We need to fight Republicans by being less like them, not more like them. If you agree, please donate $7 now. >>[link removed]

If I were in Congress right now, I’d be fighting to:

-Raise taxes on the rich
-Get paid family leave into the reconciliation bill
-Codify voting rights, Roe v. Wade, and same-sex marriage into federal law
-End fossil fuel subsidies immediately
-Cancel student debt

Not sucking up to the Republican billionaires who are sucking the life out of our economy!

I need your help to win, because I’m going against a Chevron Democrat who’s taken $3 million in corporate money while saying he wants to get big money out of politics. Please donate here; any amount helps:
