We have hours until Election Day. Can we explain to you why we need your support right now?
Friend, with just hours to go to Election Day in Virginia, we have a message from a few of our staffers.
Can you give them a minute to explain why your support is needed before polls open on Tuesday?
David Sanchez, Political Director
I’ll say this as many times as I have to: We can reelect AG Mark Herring and continue making progress in Virginia, but this race is close.
Every recent poll has this race in the margin of error, and with his opponent – pro-Trump Republican Jason Miyares – spending millions on TV ads in the past two weeks, we need to do everything we can to keep AG Herring’s message in front of voters.
Emily Rossi, Digital Media Director
The stakes in this race couldn’t be higher, friend.
AG Herring has shown up for Virginians time and time again. He has delivered comprehensive gun safety reforms, fought in court to protect the right to an abortion, and advocated for voting rights whenever they have come under siege from Republican attacks.
His opponent is a far right, pro-Trump ideologue who has campaigned as an anti-abortion extremist. He has an A rating from the NRA, a failing grade on environmental issues, a terrible record on LGBTQIA+ rights, and he openly supports restrictive voter ID laws that would disenfranchise Black and Brown communities.
Abi Strayer, Finance Director
But the truth is, our budget is tight and we need your help to make sure as many people turn out for AG Herring on Election Day as possible.
Abi, Emily, and David from the Democratic Attorneys General Association
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
