Dear John,

I'm a black mother of teenage boys and a Christian. I work in academia at NYU as the Assistant Director of a PhD program.

After becoming a young mother to twin boys at 21, I faced extensive challenges making ends meet while finishing college and then pursuing my MFA. Marianne’s work in human trauma, inner peace, and the application of love as a potent force to change helped me through all of this.

Now that my boys are 13 and starting to look more mature, I’m terrified for them as young black men.

Walking to school recently, on a cold fall morning, my son was wearing a sweatshirt and had his hands in his pockets. A police officer stopped him, shoved his hands in my son’s pockets and pulled out… a bag of chips. The officer said, “OK, you can go ahead.” Thank God it didn’t escalate.

I realized he is far removed from the innocent infant he was at birth and is now waist-deep in a world that isn’t always just and fair. I want a different America for my sons. Marianne is the only candidate going to the root on this issue of racial divide in America, stemming back to slavery.

Her plan for reparations goes beyond money. It addresses racial disparity spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. It is hard to move any relationship forward without dealing with the source of pain and distrust.

Marianne tackles issues at the root. She doesn't merely want to treat symptoms. That's radical.

I’m excited to be involved in politics for the first time and to share with my friends and family my support for Marianne, the best candidate.

I believe in miracles. I believe in shifting the direction of American thought. That's why I support Marianne.

Join me in standing up for healing the racial divide in America, once and for all. We can do this. Please support the only candidate with a specific, tangible plan for how to do it.
