The Supreme Court allowed Texas’ six-week abortion ban, SB 8, to go into effect this September, rendering 85% - 95% of abortions in Texas illegal. The repercussions here are serious — Texans will have to travel far distances to get the reproductive healthcare they need, and surrounding red states will attempt to replicate the Texas ban to hinder abortion access further.

On November 1st, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments to determine whether abortion providers or the United States can pursue lawsuits for blocking SB 8. Trump promised to overturn Roe v. Wade by nominating conservative Supreme Court Justices, and unfortunately, this reality is closer than ever.
