For the first time in the history of Contra County, California — under
Diana’s guidance — a police officer, Andrew Hall, was charged in an
on-duty shooting.

If Diana Becton was not the DA in Contra County, it’s likely this case
would have gone uninvestigated and Andrew Hall would STILL be a police
officer. This is what we mean when we talk about the importance of this
work.

Then-Officer Hall killed 33-year-old Laudemer Arboleda, a man with mental
illness, in November 2018. Andrew Hall’s police department CLEARED him of
all misconduct after they did their own ‘investigation’. But DA Diana
Becton made sure to keep investigating this case.

We CANNOT continue to let more police get off scot-free for such atrocious
crimes.

One of the most immediate tools we have in fighting back against this
cruelty is to elect District Attorneys who will hold police accountable
for their violence.
