Dear John,
Remember, remember the 4th of November – we hope you can join us at Coffee Plant, 180 Portobello Road, London W11 2EB from 7pm to 9pm for our next meeting (the minutes of October's AGM are attached).
While we are waiting to hear from the national party before discussing our five constituencies, we can resume our discussions on other relevant local and national issues, including a presentation from Toby Laurent Belson of North Kensington Community Energy (NKCE). Having said that, we might have to get ourselves ready to run!
The political picture is still constantly shifting, but we do now know that there is an EU extension on Brexit until the end of January, and by the 4th of November, there is a distinct possibility of a date for a General Election or a People’s Vote (or, as deputy Leader Amelia Womack has pointed out, both).
She adds “with more members, councillors and supporters than ever before, we have a real shot at making our principled Green voice heard.” Our co-leaders have also been very visible recently – and for all the right reasons.
If you can’t make the meeting, please join us at the screening of Groundswell, about the grassroots battle for the NHS and democracy, at 7pm on November 12th at the Tabernacle, Powis Square, London W11 2AY. The guest speaker is Larry Sanders, Green Party Spokesperson for Health and Social Care. Tickets available here via Eventbrite are free but we are suggesting a £4 donation to cover the room hire.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
Vivien Lichtenstein
