The consensus is clear: The vast majority of Americans agree that our country needs gun safety laws to protect our loved ones from the senseless violence growing daily more common. And yet two individuals – President Trump and Mitch McConnell – are holding our nation hostage, actively blocking every critical piece of legislation.

America’s gun violence epidemic has claimed too many innocent lives to allow this reckless inaction to continue any further. It’s time for Trump and McConnell to lead or get out of the way.

I have proposed bipartisan legislation that will keep guns out of the hands of those who are dangers to themselves and to others – ERPO (Emergency Risk Protection Order) legislation that will save lives. And we need to do more. We must demand progress. That’s why I’m asking you to become one of the 2,762 people we need to sign our petition demanding action on combatting gun violence before midnight.
