At the end of September, the rise of rents all across the country was widely reported. Despite the ongoing pandemic still threatening our public health, many Americans are now also threatened with the inability to afford to pay rent.

The housing crisis is not a new issue for many folks as we have seen the amount of people experiencing homelessness quickly rise over the last few years. The pandemic only made this crisis worse, and we continue to see the economic downturn affect those that are most vulnerable.

Future Forum Democrats believe that every American should be able to afford a place to live and wholly support President Biden’s Build Back Better plan to help our country out of the housing crisis. As eviction moratoriums expire throughout the country, it is more important than ever that we pass legislation protecting folks from living on the street or out of their car. Future Forum Democrats are doing the hard work every day to ensure that no one in our country experiences homelessness.
