John,

Climate change is happening now. Fires, floods, and food and water shortages are getting worse. Big Oil & Gas is destroying the climate and endangering our health and our lives. And Black, Indigenous, brown and many frontline communities are hardest hit by fracking's pollution.

There is truly no time to waste. President Biden has the power to steer the economy away from climate disaster and toward a sustainable, just future, but so far he hasn't shown any inclination he will use his authority to do so.

We need to put pressure on the President by getting our members of Congress to pass legislation mandating immediate federal action to protect our communities and the planet from catastrophic climate change.

The Climate Emergency Act would do just that. This bill would require President Biden to use his power to declare a climate emergency under the National Emergencies Act. Send a message to your members of Congress urging them to support this critical climate legislation!

The Climate Emergency Act would hold President Biden accountable to:

-Report annually on actions taken in response to the national climate emergency
-Invest in infrastructure to expand access to clean energy
-Ensure a racially and socially just transition to a clean energy economy
-Avoid solutions that increase inequality or violate human rights
-Combat environmental injustice

Climate Emergency Act NOW!

President Biden called the climate crisis “an existential threat.” Yet his administration continues to issue permits for fracking on federal lands and support fossil fuel projects from Alaska to the Gulf Coast.

Fossil fuel pollution is harming millions of people across the globe, and we know things will only get worse if we don’t transition away from dirty energy immediately. President Biden has the power to stop disastrous fossil fuel projects and protect the climate we all depend on by declaring a national climate emergency. The climate crisis requires his bold leadership NOW, not tomorrow.

Take action today: Tell Congress we no longer have the luxury of time to tackle climate change – support the Climate Emergency Act!

To deal with a global crisis, inaction and ineffective half-measures won't cut it. We need something different: bold, urgent action to solve the climate crisis, not appease the polluters who caused it.

Each new pipeline, compressor station, power plant, export facility, fracking operation and drilling site fuels climate change. Each new project locks us into decades of disaster. That's why President Biden and his administration need to take the strong stand we need to fight climate change.

Add your name telling Congress: Bold action on climate change requires bold solutions — support the Climate Emergency Act now.
