John: Did you see this message from Congresswoman Underwood? Democratic women just like her are stepping up to run for office and put communities first. It’s an uphill battle, but Emerge’s programs can make the difference between a historic victory and a crushing defeat.

Right now, we’re still falling short of our end-of-month fundraising goal. We need to close this budget gap to expand our programs and equip bold Democratic women with the battle-tested strategies they need to run for office and win. Will you give $5 or more now – before our deadline, Sunday at midnight – to help us hit this goal and power our efforts to recruit, train, and elect Democratic women in every state?

Here’s the best link to donate:

Thank you for stepping up and standing with us.

Subject: They thought it couldn't be done, John. They were wrong.

Hi, John: I’m Rep. Lauren Underwood and I’m the youngest Black woman ever elected to Congress. In a moment, I’m going to ask you to donate to help Emerge recruit, train, and elect Democratic women up and down the ballot. But first, give me a minute to share my story.

Lots of people said it couldn’t be done. But in 2018, I defeated SIX white male candidates in my primary alone – and then I went on to beat a four-term Republican incumbent.

My reelection last year was even harder. My race was one of the five closest House contests in the country – and I defeated a  Trump-Republican by just over 5,000 votes.

I couldn't have won those elections without massive support. And as we speak, there are many other Democratic women who need support as they make their plans to run for public office, break barriers, and fight for our communities.

Emerge is recruiting, training, and electing the next generation of Democratic women. It’s incredibly important work, which is why today I’m asking you, John: Will you give $5 or more – before Sunday’s midnight deadline - to help Emerge support and elect Democratic women?

Running for office is tough, especially as a woman – but there are ways to make it easier. The training, solidarity, and support that Emerge’s programs provide can make the difference between burning out and beating the odds. Democratic women like me are ready to step up and lead – but they need your help to stay in the fight.

Emerge is ready to expand their programs to equip more Democratic women with battle-tested strategies to run for office and win, but in order to do so, they need to close their $3,593 fundraising gap by their critical deadline Sunday at midnight.

So I'm asking for your help today, John: Will you give $5 or more – before our deadline – to help Emerge recruit, train, and defend Democratic women on the campaign trail and beyond?

The only way to win is to work together. Thank you for your support.

Warmly,
Congresswoman Lauren Underwood
