Friend --
I want to talk to you about ghouls -- not the trick-or-treating kind, but the dark money groups that secretly influence our politics.
You might know some of them, like the American Action Network and the National Rifle Association. But dozens of newer ghouls have come on the scene in recent years to try to keep Trump in office, regardless of the outcome of our democratic election process.
Horrifying, right?

Dark money has been haunting our politics for years. It influences elections and what lawmakers do once they get into office. I ran for Congress to shine a light on it and prove that you can win elections and progress by listening to real people.
But our October fundraising push ends tomorrow, and we're short of our 1,500-donor goal. So I've got to ask: Will you chip in $10 right now to help us finish the month strong and protect our district from dark money ghouls? [link removed] CONTRIBUTE » [link removed]
They call it dark money because it's anonymous -- meaning if it's used to support a candidate who goes on to dismantle voting rights, incite violence, or perpetuate conspiracy theories, the people who contributed the money will never be named or held accountable.
All year, these groups have been going all in to stop progress. They've spent millions to control the narrative around President Biden's agenda and run negative ads to discourage lawmakers from addressing climate change, reducing inequality, and strengthening our democracy.
And you know what? Influencing legislators' votes isn't enough for them. In the run-up to the midterms, they'll spend millions trying to influence your vote, too. They've got their sights set on Minnesota -- so we're raising grassroots dollars month after month to fight back. I’m personally asking: Will you chip in right now to help us reach our 1,500-donor goal for October? [link removed]
Thanks so much,
Dean
