Dear Mr. xxxxxx:
With October winding down and November just around the corner, I wanted to give you an update on what has been happening in Washington, D.C. this month. As you may know, President Biden and Congressional Democrats have been trying to push through a massive, multi-trillion-dollar spending package that will cripple our nation for generations to come. They are also working to weaponize the IRS to spy on everyday Americans’ transactions. Rest assured that I am fighting against these radical proposals every day in Congress.
#BloatedBill
If you have been following my Facebook page lately, you have probably noticed a series of posts throughout the last two weeks with the hashtag #bloatedbill. Each day I have highlighted the worst parts of the Democrats multi-trillion-dollar spending package. I believe everyone should know how truly terrible this legislation is, and these posts showcase that. Here is what I’ve listed so far:
Weaponizing the IRS
One of the more ridiculous proposals to come out of Congress recently is the Democrats plan to allow the IRS to invasively track all transactions over $600. This is blatant government overreach, and there’s no other way to put it. Mobilizing an entire federal agency against American taxpayers in order to spy on them is a terrible precedent to establish.
I proudly joined my colleagues in demanding the Biden Administration rescind this proposal. And I will continue to fight this crazy plan at every step of the way.
Alabama to D.C.
Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with students from Oakman Middle School and Mars Hill Bible School on the steps of the Capitol Building. The students asked me a lot of great questions, and I enjoyed telling them about Congress and how our federal government works. Due to COVID-19, it has been a while since school groups have made the trip to D.C., but I am happy to see a few coming back.
Happy Halloween
We ran across this old clipping from an October 1976 edition of the Haleyville newspaper. It shows my Dad, Mom and me carving a pumpkin for Halloween. I hope this weekend you and your family can make some good memories as you trick or treat or do trunk or treat at area churches.
May God bless you and your loved ones.
Sincerely,
Robert Aderholt
