John, I'm writing to you on a Saturday because I have an important update on Pennsylvania's redistricting process. With the Reapportionment Commission having approved the data they will use for redistricting, the first draft of the PA state legislature districts must now be released in less than 75 days. And PA's Republican-led state legislature will now get to work to attempt to draw me out of a district.
Look, the last time PA's Republican-led state legislature redrew my district, they made my predecessor hand their office keys over to a Republican. The closer we get to the date the Commission will release its maps, the more evidence we see that the GOP will play this same dirty trick on me right now.
That's why we've already launched our Litigation Fund. We will fight this in court if and when it's required we do. Pennsylvanians want me to fight this. Because by taking away my seat, the GOP wants to unravel all the work you've helped me get done in Congress. I won't stand for that.
But tomorrow is our first monthly fundraising deadline since last month's FEC filing. The GOP has pored over every detail of my last fundraising report, finding every sign of weakness they can. They'll do exactly the same thing when my October fundraising numbers go public.
I'm writing because right now we're still $1,050 short of our October goal.
The GOP will do everything they can to unseat me. And if I lose my campaign in 2022, the GOP will undoubtedly take back the House, and roll back the clock on healthcare and voting rights. The only way to stop them is to fully fund my Litigation Fund.
Please, I'm writing you now in the hopes that you can contribute today so that we can reach this crucial Litigation Fund goal and have what we need to stop the GOP's redistricting scheme in the courts.
