John,
The Democrats’ so-called infrastructure bill is up for a vote in the House, and I plan to oppose it.
I’m all for fixing our broken roads and bridges – and expanding access to broadband internet for rural Americans. But that’s not what this bill is about.
It’s about handing out taxpayer funding to liberal special interest groups and making Americans even more dependent on the federal government.
The Democrats who wrote this legislation went out of their way to underfund energy-producing states like Oklahoma – and give away a disproportionate amount of money to big left-wing cities like New York and San Francisco.
Most importantly, this bill will cost at least $1.5 trillion, and burden future generations of Americans with an even larger national debt.
As you know, I serve on the House Ways and Means Committee, and I will continue to use my position to fight for reasonable solutions to our infrastructure problems.
But I cannot and will not support the left’s fake infrastructure package.
Sincerely,
Kevin Hern
