Daily Caller and Fox News reported on An America United’s launch of a new national campaign advocating for “re-funding the police” amidst calls to cut resources for law enforcement across the country.
In Maryland, Governor Hogan recently proposed a new initiative to increase funding $150 million for law enforcement and victims of crime. Earlier this week, Maryland took the first step in implementing this plan, increasing starting pay for state troopers 45 percent. Governor Hogan also recently urged support for law enforcement while campaigning for the Virginia GOP nominee for attorney general Jason Miyares. According to Fox News, “refunding the police is a key area of [Governor Hogan’s] focus in Maryland and nationwide.”
According to a new Goucher College poll, Governor Hogan’s approval rating is 15 points higher than President Biden’s in Maryland, despite being the bluest state in America.
