John -- Governor Abbott signed gerrymandered maps into law. But his signature doesn’t mark the end of the fight for fair maps in Texas. Let me explain what happens next.
The National Redistricting Action Fund (NRAF) is supporting voters in an effort to challenge the discriminatory maps just enacted in Texas. And on the national scale, All On The Line has invested over $1 million in advocacy efforts to support federal voting rights legislation -- to end partisan gerrymandering in congressional elections once and for all.
As a campaign of the NRAF, All On The Line is proud to know our team is fighting with every tool in our toolbox against manipulated maps. We do this work because voters need fair representation now.
We can’t wait until 2031. Will you make a donation to support All On The Line today?

Looking ahead, the most concerning features of Texas’ maps are surfacing again in states like North Carolina and Georgia. Drafts of maps in these states pack and crack communities of color, fail to accurately reflect census data, and nearly eliminate competitive districts.
Your support is helping All On The Line pave the way for unprecedented public engagement in all of these states -- which in turn builds the public record of communities demanding fair maps.
Before you read about All On The Line’s national strategy to combat gerrymandering, will you chip in a few dollars to help fund their efforts?
While executing our state-by-state strategy for fair maps, we’re also advocating for democracy reform bills on the national level like the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. These bills would protect and expand voting rights -- and all new congressional maps would be held to the new redistricting standards.
According to our analysis, the new Texas congressional map would not pass the partisan gerrymandering test in the Freedom to Vote Act. If Congress passes this bill, that map could not be used in any future elections.
Congress must act now and pass these two pieces of legislation, but we can’t count on Republican lawmakers who have refused to support the bills to protect our democracy -- suppressing the vote and manipulating the maps are two ways they undemocratically retain power.
We have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to put power back in the hands of the people. We need to stay vigilant, work hard in the states, organize, and pressure Congress to act. We can’t afford to wait for fair maps until 2031.
Will you be a part of our movement and make a donation -- of any amount right now -- to fuel our movement as states like Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina finalize their maps?
We will win this fight.
