John,
Six months ago, President Biden addressed Congress and promised action on gun reform. But since then, we have seen only limited action to stop our nation’s gun violence epidemic. All the while, mass shootings and gun violence in our communities continues.
Biden ran on one of the strongest gun violence prevention platforms in American history. We fought hard to elect him and other gun violence prevention champions so that they could finally protect our citizens from the scourge of gun violence. But this inaction has stretched from days into weeks and months, while the epidemic of gun violence rages.
Thank you for taking action to save lives. Team Brady

Ted Deutch, and more — all while networking with fellow youth leaders and building leadership, policy, and advocacy skills.
Read and Share Our Domestic Violence Report: “Beyond Bullet Wounds: Guns in the Hands of Domestic Abusers” In America, firearms are the weapon of choice for domestic violence homicides: In fact, female intimate partners are more likely to be murdered with a gun than by all other means combined.
The lethal connection between firearms and domestic violence demands immediate action — especially amid national crises, like the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our updated report addresses new concerns, providing activists, policymakers, community leaders, and more with tangible actions to address the lethal intersection of firearms and domestic violence in America. As we near the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, will share — and read — our updated report? It could help save a life. 🎧 Episode 154: Blood in the Water: Gun Violence, Policing, Media Representations, and Truth
Policies can either prevent gun violence and reduce racial inequities — or exacerbate both. It's why we must reckon with racism’s role in gun violence as we craft new policy solutions today. We're joined by Brady Vice President of Policy Christian Heyne and author Heather Ann Thompson discuss what's gone wrong with policy solutions in the past, and how we can do better in the future. Gun-control Groups Join Legal Fight Over Florida Law That Raises Rifle-Buying Age to 21, Orlando Sentinel After weeks of intense negotiations in Congress, President Biden announced that the landmark $5 billion for community violence intervention (CVI) funding will remain a part of the Build Back Better Act! This is perhaps the largest investment in gun violence prevention ever.
This is a major step toward preventing gun violence, and it would not be possible without leaders like Executive Director of the Community Justice Action Fund (CJAF) Greg Jackson. Greg leads the Invest In Us Coalition, a group comprised of diverse groups like Fund Peace, to advocate for community-centered solutions to end gun violence.
Thank you, Greg, for your tireless leadership and relentless work to end gun violence by investing in our communities.
