Friends,
I'm proud to report that we've achieved one of my biggest goals as governor - securing the first raise for teachers and school support workers in a decade. This is a tremendous step forward for our state, and it wouldn't have happened without folks like you speaking up for our educators.
This is an incredible first step, but our work isn't done. Louisiana's educational attainment levels are still below the national average, and I'm determined to win reelection so I can help invest more in our schools, teachers and students.
Unfortunately, my opponents oppose additional education investment, saying it's too costly or unnecessary. But is there any investment more worthwhile, and more necessary, than an investment in the children of this state? I certainly can't think of one.
In the face of this opposition, I want to show that grassroots energy is still on the side of educators. Before midnight, I need 5,000 supporters - including you - to stand with our teachers by answering this question:
Should Louisiana invest more in education?
