If you’ve ever owned an old home, you’ll know that every time you start one project, five more come out of the woodwork. The same goes for us here. We open up one wall to find an old door, no footings, and our new friend Oliver the Owl's nest.

I won't sugarcoat it – we're cutting it close and we're behind on our goal by about $6,000.

Hey friend,

There’s never a dull moment working for the Iowa Democratic Party. From construction at headquarters to hiring new folks to encouraging Iowans to vote in local elections, we’ve got a lot on our plate.

But none of this comes cheap and looking at the latest numbers, we’re about $13,000 short of our monthly goal. Thankfully, we caught it early and have time to make up the difference but I need your help. Can I count on you to rush a $30 contribution right now? [[link removed]]

I wear multiple hats in finance and operations at the IDP, so I get to see all the ins and outs of the party – including our headquarters in Des Moines. For a few months now, we’ve partnered with union construction workers to help give our building a new facelift.

This new facelift also comes as we revamp our organizing efforts by hiring new talent to connect with volunteers and activists around the state. The search has just begun, but I’m excited by the resumes rolling in to see where our party is going.

We’ve hit a few bumps in the road – and a surprise owl’s nest in the roof – but I know we can reach this monthly goal and make sure that we have the tools we need to win big in 2022. Every dollar counts, friend – can I count on you to chip in even $5 right now? [[link removed]]
