October 29, 2019: A World Bank study of government regulations found

The study based their ratings on a dozen factors such as the ease of
starting a business and employing workers to enforcing contracts and
trading across borders. The sixth-place ranking of the United States
this year is a slight improvement over its eighth-place finish a year
ago.[2]

That’s better than some major EU countries such as Germany (22) and
France (32).[1]
