It is my absolute pleasure to write to you tonight, to announce that our candidate for the upcoming by-election in Old Bexley and Sidcup will be our Party Leader, Richard Tice.

There is no better choice of candidate for our party and there will be no better choice of MP for the voters in that constituency.

Though the circumstances which have led to the by-election are terribly sad, we recognise that voters in Old Bexley and Sidcup will want to use this election to send out a clear message to Boris Johnson and his cabinet - Consocialism was not what they voted for two years ago. They didn’t vote for the high tax, highly regulated nanny state which Britain has increasingly become. They expect and deserve better and that is what Reform UK are offering.

In a release sent out to the media tonight, Richard said “This is a big moment, when some voters can express their disappointment with Boris’ Consocialism product. I hope they will send a message that they want lower taxes, zero waiting lists and cheaper energy as well as a referendum on net zero. A first MP for Reform UK would be a huge signal, a massive wake up call. The country needs it, before it's too late”

Not only does Richard care deeply about reforming many of our key institutions, about making Britain more democratic and more free, he believes passionately in public service and in improving the everyday lives of ordinary, hard working people.

With Richard now stepping up to the plate, we need you to do everything you can to help over these next few weeks. Any time you can spend helping the campaign will make a massive difference.

That campaign starts tomorrow in Sidcup, where I’ll be joining Richard for our first action day. If you have a few hours spare, please do come along and say hello. We’re meeting at the George Staples Pub, 273 Blackfen Road, Sidcup. DA15 8PR at 10:30am.

You can also donate to our by-election campaign fund, where every pound we raise will go on promoting our optimistic message of reform to local voters in Old Bexley and Sidcup.
