This is it folks. 4 days left. The day we have been working all year towards has finally arrived. Polling has come out that says that we are basically tied at this point, but there is only one poll that matters and it’s the one on election day. We may be tired, but we cannot let up now.

Virginia is notorious for going the opposite direction as the Presidency and the last time we did it, we narrowly won. We have a real opportunity to repeat history and prove that when you elect Democrats, we will deliver and get stuff done for the people of Virginia. This is a message for the whole country, that we are still working as hard as we can to move our country forward and won’t let the regressive policies of the Right pull us backward.

Arlington is currently outpacing the rest of the state. OUTPACING the rest of the state in voting. That is all because of the efforts from groups like ours and those aligned with us here in Arlington County for getting that done. AYD has continued to lead the rest of the state in terms of voters contacted and volunteer hours put in. That will be a difference maker here in Virginia come November 2nd.

I have said it before and I will say it again, we have so much riding on this election. The GOP has already sworn to undo all the progress we have made here in Virginia and they are not shy about it either. They may turn away a visit from President Trump so they are not associated with the man, but the mentality is still very much alive and well in Virginia’s GOP.

Look at all we have accomplished after taking the majority in both the House and the Senate. The Democratic Trifecta:
Passed the one of the most comprehensive Climate action plans in the South
Passed common sense Gun Reforms
Abolished the Death Penalty for the first time in the South
Legalized recreational use of Cannabis for the first time in the South
Expanded access to health care
Protected reproductive rights
Made Virginia the best for Business 2 years in a row
Took Virginia from being one of the worst states to vote to passing its own Voting Rights Act
Passed the Virginia Values Act to protect burdened communities from discrimination
Took Virginia from being dead last for workers to increasing its place to at least the upper half of the country
Capped the price of insulin
Took down Confederate Monuments

And that was just in the span of 2 sessions. Imagine what we can do with another 2 sessions. When you elect Democrats, we will deliver and we will continue to deliver together for VIrginia.

Our Commonwealth and our futures hang in the balance here on Tuesday. We can either move backward, and risk losing all of the progress we made or continue to move forward, and make Virginia a commonwealth where wealth is common.

I’m going to steal a line that I heard Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm say this week when she came to rally for the Democratic Ticket: “In Michigan, we make cars and we all know what goes on the gear shift. R means backward and D means forward. And on Tuesday, we’re gonna put this thing in Drive and move Virginia forward.”

This is what I’m asking of you. Over these next 4 days, I need you to do at least 1 of these things:
Knock on doors either with us down in Richmond or here in Arlington

Text 5 of your friends who you know haven’t voted yet to go out and vote before or on November 2nd.

This win will take all of us coming together in these last few days. As goes Virginia, so goes the nation and we have fought too hard, too long to turn it off now. Let’s go out and win this thing.
