** Young people urged to get vaccinated
------------------------------------------------------------

Infection rates in Oldham’s 10 to 19 age group are still higher than any other age group. Anyone over the age of 12 can now book a Covid vaccination via the National Booking System at clinicssuch as the Dinwoodie Centre at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

Vaccination sites have been particularly busy lately as we’re seeing more people take up their vaccine and booster offers. While there is lots of availability at the Etihad in Manchester, local appointments are going quickly.

Anyone over the age of 16 can attend one of our walk-in clinics, however please be aware that 12- to 15-year-olds will still need to book a vaccine appointment or engage with their school's vaccination programme.

To book a vaccine now, visit Get a COVID-19 vaccine ([link removed])

We are also urging anyone eligible for their booster vaccine to take up the offer when contacted. This will not only improve your protection, but will also reduce your chances of getting seriously ill or being hospitalised.

Covid information is updated regularly on our website, including vaccination clinics, PCR and Rapid testing sites, safety guidance, support for coping with Covid and the latest Oldham Covid figures. Visit www.oldham.gov.uk/coronavirus

Could you, or someone you know, support our children and young people over the winter holidays?

We’re on the lookout for providers who can work with us to host engaging activities and provide nourishing hot meals for those aged 5-16, who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

Our winter Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme will be a vital lifeline to local families who need our help the most during this period, so you'll be making a massive difference.

We're particularly interested in providers that can offer four days of four-hour sessions but all applicants are welcome and we're happy to offer further support to any provider who meets our due diligence requirements.

Interested providers just must fill in an expression of interest form via www.oldham.gov.uk/haf-form
