Equal Pay Day 2021

Announcement! 📣 Equal Pay Day 2021 will take place on Thursday 18th November.

What is Equal Pay Day? 💸 It marks the day in the year where women stop earning, relative to men, because of the gender pay gap. This year, the gender pay gap is 11.9%, an increase from 10.6% last year. An increase in the gender pay gap is alarming and that's why we need you to help us tackle pay inequality and join in the #EqualPayDay campaign.

Get involved ✊ Ahead of Equal Pay Day we will be providing you, our wonderful supporters, with a toolkit to support your campaigning. Watch this space for more information on how you can get involved with #EqualPayDay

Menopause in the Workplace

On World Menopause Day, we published our latest research, Menopause in the Workplace, exploring the impact of the menopause on women in the financial services sector. Working with Standard Chartered Bank and the Financial Services Skills Commission, we conducted a large-scale survey of over 2,400 people.

Our research shows that 25% of women are more likely to leave the financial services sector, due to menopause experience. It also uncovered three key findings:

➡️ A culture of silence means the impact of the menopause is hidden
➡️ The sector is losing talent because of the menopause
➡️ With the right support, women can stay and progress in the financial services

Our Menopause in the Workplace report identifies key actions that organisations can take to better address the barriers faced and create workplace cultures where menopause is better understood.
Our Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Andrew Bazeley, presented our research at the Menopause in the Workplace report launch. The event hosted a vital discussion on how the financial services sector can facilitate a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees experiencing the menopause.
