To be honest, these last few weeks have been tough ones, with lots of ups and downs. I have been working to secure many key provisions in the Build Back Better agenda that I've been fighting to pass for years — on issues ranging from universal early childhood education, to combating climate change, to affordable housing, reducing the costs of child care, and more.

While the current package doesn't include everything I wanted it to (like giving Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices or providing paid family and medical leave), it will have an enormous positive impact on the lives and well-being of American families and communities across our country.

We will have to return another day to fight for those priorities that are not included in the final bill — and we will! But, for now, we need to push hard to get this package over the finish line. Whatever the final bill looks like, not a single Republican in the Senate or House plans to vote for it. That's another reminder of how crucial it is that we win in 2022 to continue our work!
