John,
We want to keep you up-to-date on Jared’s work advocating for Mainers and breaking through partisan gridlock in Congress, so here is just some of what Rep. Golden has accomplished since our last newsletter.
SUPPORTING A WOMAN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE:
Recently, Jared voted in support of the Women’s Health Protection Act. He believes politicians have no business being involved in the private medical decisions made between a woman and her healthcare professional.

RAISING MAINE LOGGERS’ CONCERNS TO THE ADMINISTRATION:
As the latest step in his work to support Maine’s loggers and log haulers, Jared hosted Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh for a logger roundtable discussion in Fayette and Augusta. They heard firsthand from Maine loggers and truckers about the challenges they are facing -- from worker shortages, to a lack of dependable markets, and more. This visit was an important step in making progress on these issues by making them heard in the administration.

BANNING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FROM PROFITING OFF OF FOREIGN INTERESTS:
This month, Jared reintroduced the Stop Foreign Payoffs Act. This common sense legislation would bar government officials -- presidents, vice presidents, cabinet secretaries, members of Congress, as well as their close families -- from earning a salary from or holding an investment in foreign business as long as they are in office.
LIFTING RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL THROUGH THE U.S.-CANADIAN BORDER:
Jared and the Maine congressional delegation have been pushing to lift the restrictions on nonessential travel between the U.S. and Canada for the past few months. Now, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that our land borders will be reopened for fully vaccinated individuals starting in November.
We know that none of this would have been possible without your continued support. Thank you for being on our team.
Sincerely,
Team Golden
P.S. The GOP establishment has listed Jared as a top target to beat next year, and even after redistricting ME-02 is rated a “Toss-Up.” We can’t let them undo all the progress he’s made, so if you can, will you chip in $5 and help Jared continue this important work?
