Friend –

Hours ago, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger intends to purge roughly 330,000 voters from the rolls before the 2020 primary takes place.

Raffensperger seems committed to following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Governor* Brian Kemp, the architect of voter suppression who made a name for himself as Secretary of State by removing Georgia voters from the rolls and making it harder to cast a ballot.

Given the long history of voter suppression in the Georgia Secretary of State’s office, Raffensperger has a responsibility to guarantee that not a single voter is wrongly included on the purge list.

Fair Fight is committed to holding the Secretary of State's office accountable and conducting our own efforts to notify voters so they can take the necessary steps to stay on the rolls. But doing so will take resources.

Will you chip in today to protect the constitutional rights of voters?

Last November, Fair Fight Action filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Georgia that directly challenged the state’s practice of "use it or lose it" voting purging. And in March, Fair Fight Action's lawyers will head to trial in order to defend our democracy.

For eight years, Kemp oversaw the systematic dismantling of our democracy and of voting rights in Georgia. We cannot let his legacy of silencing Georgia voters continue unchallenged.
