Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is a Republican mega-donor, and he’s doing everything he can to make it harder for people to vote by mail.

Dear Friend,

Have you noticed your mail coming slower and slower?

Starting October 1, the postal service began to slow down mail delivery, and in many parts of the country, it now takes longer than in the 1970s.1 At the same time, the post office increased the price of postage. And it's all because of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.2

Demand Progress won’t stand for this sabotage, which is why we’re running a pressure campaign to demand that President Biden fire DeJoy and replace him with a progressive who will work in the public interest and strengthen the postal service.

Will you chip in $10 to Demand Progress to help save the post office—and keep corporate cronies out of the Biden administration?

If charging you more for worse service sounds like a direct path for failure, it’s because it is.

These changes are part of DeJoy’s 10-year plot to sabotage the postal service in order to line his own pockets. DeJoy is invested in USPS competitors, meaning that the worse the postal service does, the richer DeJoy becomes.3

Friend, lining his own pockets is only one reason why DeJoy wants to bring the mail to a grinding halt.

DeJoy also wants to carry out Trump’s plan to make it harder to vote by mail.

Remember, Donald Trump personally appointed DeJoy—a GOP mega-donor with no previous postal service experience—as head of USPS just before the 2020 election in order to make it harder for voters to cast their ballots in the midst of a deadly pandemic.4

DeJoy immediately made drastic—and alarming—changes, including removing mailboxes around the country and shuffling around top officials to give himself more power.5

With the 2022 elections just around the corner, we know DeJoy will do everything in his power to make it harder to vote. Demand Progress members have sent more than 100,000 messages urging DeJoy to be fired, NOW.

Our pressure campaign to fire DeJoy is more urgent than ever. But we need your help. Will you rush a donation today to help save the postal service?

Thanks for standing with us.

Robert Cruickshank,
Demand Progress
