We’re all a step closer to securing our democratic freedoms 



I’m just writing to say a huge thank you to those of you who donated to our crowdfunder on the Elections Bill. Since Friday, you have helped us raise more than £6,000 - and we’d just like to say a very sincere thank you for this mammoth effort. 



Your support makes such a difference to the work we can do to challenge this anti-democratic bill as it makes its way through parliament. <[link removed]> This bill contains a series of clauses which slowly tilt us into authoritarianism, by weakening the independent elections regulator and allowing the Government to ban certain types of campaigners. Your donations help us to amplify our lobbying effort with parliamentarians, our commentary on social media, to reach  bigger audiences with our campaigning and put in place long-term strategies for challenging such assaults on our democracy. 



The Elections Bill isn’t the only anti-democratic bill on the agenda - we’re also challenging other bills which clamp down on our democratic freedoms, such as the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts bill. It will take all our energy to push back against all of these - so we’re very glad to have you along for the journey. 



Since we started campaigning on the creeping authoritarianism of the current Government earlier this year, we’ve raised £37,648.02 - that’s just £2351.91 short of the £40,000 needed to do all it takes.  <[link removed]>
