Greetings from Arizona!

After another non-stop week in Washington, DC, it is great to be back home in Arizona. This morning, I joined Dennis Welch on AZ Family's Politics Unplugged. Tune in on Sunday at 5:30pm on AZ Family to watch the interview!

Helping Families Fly Act

For pregnant women and families with young children, airport travel can be a stressful and time-consuming task. On Wednesday, the House Homeland Security Committee approved my bipartisan bill to improve the airport experience for pregnant women and young families. My bill now heads to the House floor for a vote!

Casework Highlight

A constituent reached out to our office because her husband passed away and the Social Security Administration took away the final month of benefits her husband was eligible for. Our office reached out to Social Security immediately. Due to the financial hardship this was creating, the issue was expedited to the Social Security Administration Payment Center, and they expedited processing of the issue. The funds were returned to the constituent, and the constituent reported receiving the funds via direct deposit the next day.

Miss Arizona

Congratulations to newly-crowned Miss Arizona, Jacqueline Thomas! She came to visit with Arizona members of Congress this week.

Friends of the National World War II Memorial

It was a pleasure to spend time with Bryan Rossi, an 11th and 12th grade teacher at  Glendale's Mountain Ridge High School, and other educators in Washington, DC for the annual Friends of the National World War II Memorial teachers network and conference. They will return to their respective schools and implement a WWII community service program with their students!
