Friend,

The first item that Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal shared on social media
today, following a high-stakes meeting between President Joe Biden and
the Democratic caucus on Capitol Hill, was Common Dreams' reporting from
yesterday:

Jayapal, the Congressional Progressive Caucus chairperson, posted a
piece by Senior Editor Andrea Germanos, with the headline "House
Progressives: 'When We Said These Two Bills Go Together, We Meant It'."

As the fight over the party's signature Build Back Better legislation
reaches a boiling point, our reporters are working tirelessly to raise
up progressive voices both inside and outside of Congress that are
demanding that working people, struggling families, and planet Earth
itself are not cut out of the deal that has been hammered—nearly to
death—by corporate interests and wealthy elites.

Jayapal then minutes later shared a second piece by Common Dreams. In
that article, staff reporter Brett Wilkins detailed the determination by
caucus members and outside advocates to "hold the line" against the
corporate onslaught aimed at the bill's most far-reaching provisions.

We know our work matters, but we also know that this kind of
journalism—not watered down or captured by corporate interests—is only
possible because it is funded by readers like you who understand its
unique value and independence. We can't do it without you.

If you value our hard work, please chip in today to help us carry on our
vital mission. Time is running short in our crucial Fall Campaign, but
with your support—no matter how large or small your donation—we vow to
be here tomorrow to continue this hard-hitting coverage.
