John -- Governors have the power to veto maps passed by legislatures in some states. But this week, Texas Governor Greg Abbott chose to fully endorse manipulated maps by signing the plan passed by the GOP-controlled Texas Legislature.

If conservative governors want to endorse unfair redistricting, they should explain their reasoning to their constituents.

Our team is spearheading a $50,000 accountability ad campaign in Texas because no conservative map manipulator should be let off the hook for approving districts that purposefully diminish the political power of some of their constituents.

We must end gerrymandering now -- we can’t wait until maps are drawn again in 2031.
