The tragic early passing of James Brokenshire MP means there will have to be a by-election in Old Bexley & Sidcup. I want to pay tribute to his hard work for his constituents and his dedicated, successful commitment to public service.

This Saturday we’re having our first campaign action day in the constituency, as we launch our candidate.

We will be mounting a vigorous campaign to build on our growing national profile and the exciting policy announcements we made at our recent Conference. (If you missed the Conference, you can watch all the speeches and announcements on our YouTube channel ([link removed]) .)

But we can only do this with your help.

We know that our commitment to provide cheaper energy, lower taxes and offer zero waiting lists will resonate with voters, we just need to put every effort into making sure we speak to as many of them as possible.

This job starts on Saturday, when we will be meeting at the George Staples Pub, 273 Blackfen Road, Sidcup. DA15 8PR at 10:30am.

Alongside our excellent Deputy Leader, Dr David Bull, I’ll be there with the Reform UK bus to launch our candidate as we look to blow away the autumnal gloom and offer some real optimism and hope to voters there.

Any time you can give to the campaign will make a real difference.

You can also make a huge difference by contributing to our Bexley Fighting Fund, every penny of which we will use to take on the Tories in this key seat.
