Friend,
Two years ago this month, a gunman in Las
Vegas opened fire on a crowd of concert-goers. He killed 58 people,
wounded 422 others, and destroyed countless lives in ways we could
never begin to quantify. To this day, it’s still the deadliest mass
shooting in the history of our nation. And to this day, our gun laws
have hardly changed. That’s
why I’m hoping you’ll commit to supporting 2020 candidates like me who
are serious about combating gun
violence.

I say “hardly” changed, because our government did take
one step to prevent another Las Vegas Massacre from ever happening
again -- albeit a full 18 months later -- by banning bump stocks. But
a bump stock ban didn’t save our neighbors in Thousand Oaks, CA. It
didn’t save the congregants of the Tree of Life Synagogue in
Pittsburgh, or students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, or
shoppers at an El Paso Walmart. Republicans
in Congress are blocking all of our attempts to end gun violence, but
with your help today, we can replace NRA-backed GOP members with those
of us who’ll fight for real reform.
Two years from
now, I’d like to say that we passed tough, sensible gun reform
legislation that helped prevent mass shootings in this country.
But
that only happens if we put in the work now to support candidates who
are serious about gun reform. So will you take the first step with me
by adding your name
today?
Best, Ted
