Friend,

Did you see the article in Politico last week?

Politico is right about one thing: the thing about Doug is, he didn’t go to Washington to do what’s politically convenient. As he puts it, he isn’t going to “hold his finger to the wind” to make his decisions. Here’s the bottom line: When Doug has to make a decision, he does what’s right, not what’s politically expedient. That’s why he stood up to the President this week when he made racially charged comments. But it’s also why he’s willing to work across party lines to do things like protect civil rights or make sure Alabama’s hospitals are funded fairly.

Yes, Doug’s going to have a tough fight next year. Mitch McConnell is making him the TOP target of the GOP in 2020. But Doug’s not worried about that. He’s focused on doing what’s right. And, folks, that’s why we know we can win this: The people of Alabama are sick of the division and chaos in Washington. [[link removed]]

We don’t need more extremists in Washington. We need people who care deeply about healing this country and bringing people together – not dividers who exploit our differences to get ahead.
